Clean & simple birthday card – Tulip Fields

Clean and simple birthday card with Tulip Fields bundle to follow on from last week’s simply stamped Windmill card.

This week I’m using the larger windmill die which takes centre stage. This is part of the Flowering Fields Suite on pages 14-17 of the January-June 2022 mini. It was difficult to decide which bundle to get first, and with Sale-a-bration in full swing, it made sense to invest in the whole suite. I was then able to have the option to choose free product from the brochure as a bonus!

I used adhesive sheets on the Crumb Cake card stock before die cutting elements of the windmill. The windmill sails are quite delicate so I die cut two and adhered one on top of the other to strengthen it.

The Flowering Fields patterned paper was so busy that it provided the perfect background for the windmill. I simply stamped and embossed a greeting “happy birthday” from Timeless Tulips. This was then punched out with the Lovely Labels pick a punch.

Inside card

I often cut my 12″ x 12″ patterned paper down to 6″x 6″ squares. Once I’ve used what I need for the front of the card, the leftovers can be used for other projects, but on this occasion, I stuck it to the inside left panel instead.

On the right side, I used the die from the Tulips Dies set and cut out tiny squares. These squares expose the card stock underneath. What a quick, easy way to add interest without having to stamp!
