A clean and simple card for this Sale-a-bration stamp set called Catching Butterflies. Hello! ….and Happy Sunday!
We’re two weeks into Sale-a-bration and this is one of the stamp sets you can choose as a freebie with a qualifying purchase of £45 excluding shipping/handling.
How did I make it?
On a scrap piece of Basic White, I stamped the girl with her butterfly net in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured her frock, in Bermuda Bay; her face, in Petal Pink; her hair in So Saffron. I fussy cut just her head and frock without the hands and legs along the black lines and set it aside.
Next I stamped the cluster of butterflies and coloured the three largest butterflies in Bermuda Bay and So Saffron and fussy cut them without the antennae and set these aside too.
Main card front layer
First, I used a blending brush to blend the sky with Pool Party ink before stamping the girl with her net and the cluster of butterflies on Basic White card stock.
Her hands and legs were coloured in with Petal Pink and the remaining butterflies in Bermuda Bay and So Saffron. Next, I added a border using the Stitched Whimsy Dies.
I adhered the three large butterflies using glue dots with its corresponding image and the fussy cut girl with her frock over her corresponding image.
Sentiment label
My new favourite set of dies is the Beautiful Shapes dies. This is a set which coordinates with the “Hello Beautiful” stamp set. I featured this in a previous post which you can see HERE.
I used the larger of the two rectangular shaped “cut and emboss” dies for my sentiment. As you can see, I re-positioned the die several times so that it would fit my sentiment! The edges were sponge daubed in Bermuda Bay ink.
Lastly, I added a Holiday Rhinestone as a finishing touch.
Inside card
I stamped the cluster of butterflies and the single butterfly in the bottom right corner inside the card. Any sentiments were omitted leaving the option to add a suitable sentiment to fit the occasion when you get round to using it.
