Quadruple Easel card – Happy Hedgehogs

Today I have a quadruple easel card using the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set. Hedgehogs may be prickly to handle, but they are so cute!

The countdown to the end of Sale-a-bration has begun! It finishes on 28 February, and to my dismay, I have yet to use the Daffodil Afternoon DSP. The papers are free subject to a qualifying purchase of £45 excluding shipping and handling. So, I set myself a challenge to use those papers asap!

Hedgehogs love the undergrowth and plenty of coverage, so the Daffodil Afternoon papers were ideal. I also used Pierced Bloom dies to die cut a trio of tiny flowers in Blushing Bride. To mimic the flowers on the DSP, I used a black Stampin’ Write marker to add detail to the flower centre.

Inside card

Simply stamped inside using a Sale-a-bration stamp set which is free with a £90 qualifying order called Special Moments. The Special Moments Stamp Set is perfect for all occasions with unique greetings for “thank you” and “hello” and many more. The various font sizes and styles of the sentiments, combined with the designs and images of your choice, will make your handmade projects elegant and unique. The stamp set is also available in Dutch, French, and German.

I split my greeting with the upper half for the front of the card, and the bottom half for the inside of the card. The image from Happy Hedgehogs was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured in with Stampin’ Blends in Deep 100, Flirty Flamingo and Mossy Meadow combos.

Quadruple easel mechanism

Sounds complicated doesn’t it? I assure you, it isn’t.

  1. Cut a piece 11-1/8″ x 6″ (28 cm x 15 cm)
  2. Long side on top, align left edge a tad over 2-3/4″ (7 cm) and cut from top down to 4″ (10 cm).
  3. Rotate card stock 90 degrees clockwise with short side at the top. Align left edge at 2″ (5 cm) and cut from top down to previous cut line @ 2-3/4″ (7 cm)
  4. Rotate card stock 90 degrees anti-clockwise so that the partially cut long side is on top. Align the shortened long side @ 5-1/2″ (14 cm) and cut the right edge from the top down to 2-3/4″ (7 cm).
  5. Flip card over and align the short side with the flap on the left. Align its left edge @ 2″ and cut from top down to 2 3/4″ (7 cm). The card stock should resemble a “T” and the width of the middle section measures 5-1/2″ (14 cm).

For the scoring instructions, it is easier to watch it demonstrated in the video tutorial. As the saying goes – “a picture paints a thousand words!” The easel mechanism is adhered to an ordinary card base.
