A fun Z fold card to show case Waves of Inspiration. The Waves of the Ocean Collection has just launched and the Waves of Inspiration stamp set and Waves Dies are an early release product from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue.
The other items in the collection like Waves of the Ocean DSP, Blue Foils Specialty Paper and Waves Rhinestone Basic Jewels are available while stocks last from 1 March to 2 May. However, the stamps and dies will still be available for the duration of the next Annual Catalogue.
Aerial View of z-fold
This has to be the simplest way of creating a z-fold card. The card base measures 11-1/2″ x 5-3/4″ . On the long side you score at 2-7/8″ and 5 3/4″. When folded, the card size measures 4-1/8″ x 5-3/4″, so the front of the card was simply folded in half.
Here is the card laid out flat. I added extra mat layers to the stamped wave in order to mirror the card base. It gives the wave portion added strength and coordinates with the card base when viewed from the back.
The details
Metric measurements are in brackets.
- Cut card base in Coastal Cabana at 11-1/2″ x 4-1/8″ (28 cm x 10.5 cm). On the long side, score at 2-7/8″ and 5-3/4″ (7 cm, 14 cm)
- *Cut 2 pieces in Pacific Point at 2-5/8″ x 3-7/8″ and 1 piece at 2-7/8″ x 3-7/8″. (* Cut 3 pieces in Pacific Point for the metric measurements at 6.5 cm x 10 cm)
- Cut 1 Basic white piece cut at 2-1/2″ x 3-7/8″ (6.5 cm x 10 cm). This piece is for stamping the sentiment and a place to say who it’s for and who it’s from.
- Waves of the Ocean DSP : *Cut 2 pieces 2-3/8″ x 3-5/8″ and 1 piece at 2-5/8″ x 3-5/8″ (*Cut 3 pieces for metric measurements at 6 cm x 9.5 cm).
Extra card stock
- Basic White 3-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ (8 cm x 14 cm) for stamping the wave.
- Pacific Point 4″ x 5-1/2″ (10 cm x 14 cm) Mat 1 for wave
- Coastal Cabana 4″ x 5-3/4″ (10 cm x 14.5 cm) Mat 2 for wave
- Leftover scraps Basic white for die cutting clouds, cloud accents, sentiment and pelican
