Here’s an embossed easter card with the Easter Friends stamp set. Late in the “day” I realised we were galloping toward Easter and I had not even given it a thought. So it’s been a mad panic to rectify the lack of Easter content before Easter Sunday on 17 April!
As there are so many things retiring, including these gorgeous papers from Pansy Petals, the Easter Friends stamp set, Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder, Just Jade ink and card stock, I thought I’d try and incorporate these into the design.
I absolutely adore the gingham patterns for Easter projects and as my stock dwindles, I’ve had to resort to using tiny bits just for a hint of colour and an easter vibe!
If you don’t have ribbon to match, a great way is to use patterned paper as faux ribbon! This is such a great way to use up tiny bits of leftovers. Never ever throw away those tiny bits – they can come in useful when you least expect it! You can add depth of colour by blending or sponging the paper as shown in the photo above.
I used the second largest Stitched Rectangle dies to die cut my card front layer which I adhered to the card front with foam adhesive strips. The embossed piece was also die cut with the Stitched Rectangle dies and I cut out the flag end detail with the corner of the die to continue the stitched effect on the flag ends.
Hate colouring? Use blending brushes! It’s a quick and easy way to cover large areas or lined images like this duckling.
Fixing mistakes
Shhhh! I’ll let you into a little secret….. I stamped the sentiment crooked. It’s so annoying when that happens, but there’s an easy fix. I stamped the words again on a scrap of Basic White and fussy cut it. Trouble was that it still didn’t cover my originally stamped crooked sentiment. What to do? I stuck that piece on a scrap of Just Jade and fussy cut round that too. The extra layer of card stock made it larger and consequently covered the mistake.
