We never have enough ideas for masculine cards do we – but with Wild & Sweet I’ve made some masculine cards in a jiffy.
I think Stampin’ Up!’s offering of stamps for the guys is improving and I’ve been really happy with their choice of imagery. Wild & Sweet is a red rubber Cling stamp set so that when you stamp, the image is lovely and crisp.
Both these are z-fold cards. They are so easy to make. You simply fold the front of your card in half and adhere smaller pieces of card stock on top and it creates that “wow” factor without too much effort! I also used the new Deckled rectangles dies. Love them!
Stampin’ Up! carries two types of stamps. The red rubber stamps sits on a foam cushion whereas the see-through clear photopolymer does not. Both have their merits. There was a time when Stampin’ Up! used to offer wood blocks customised to fit each stamp which you then had to mount on the wooden block. I can’t remember when they made the transition to dispense with the wooden blocks altogether, but I’m glad they did. It takes up less room because you can mount the rubber stamps on different acrylic blocks just as you do with photopolymer. The advantage of photopolymer is that they’re clear so that you can see where you’re stamping especially if you’re doing two-step stamping or stamping sentiments.
I digress – the Wild & Sweet imagery resembles an etching with very fine lines. Red rubber is a firmer material, so when you stamp such intricate detail, it maintains that crisp image. Photopolymer is softer, and has a lot more give, so if you press too hard, it will “squash” the outlines.
That’s all from me for today folks. Thanks for dropping by. Enjoy your weekend.
