Bespoke hershey boxes using the Alphabest bundle from the May 2022 – April 2023 Annual Catalogue. As you know, the July-December 2022 mini has just launched and with that, round 2 of Sale-a-bration. We all love new and shiny, but let’s not forget that there are little gems from the Annual catalogue too! You’ll find the Alphabest stamp set and punch on page 115.
The stamps are in photopolymer and it also contains letters used in French and German with special accents, numerals as well as stamps with backgrounds and even a frame. I love the samples Stampin’ Up!’s concept artists made to show you the different ways you can use the stamps to spell different words to enhance a project. You can stamp different backgrounds, punch it out and adhere them in a pattern on a card and even a scrapbook page. The possibilities are endless and go as far as your imagination and creativity takes you.
Here’s how I used mine!
There are so many 3 letter configurations you can have and for different seasons too. Just switch the colours and paper and hey presto – a Halloween one and the other for Christmas. Great for Halloween treat bags and stocking fillers, don’t you think?
Hershey nuggets
Hershey nuggets are American chocolates and they are not readily available in the UK but can be found from specialist confectionery shops who import American candy. If you love them enough and are willing to pay a premium, you can get hold of them. Whenever I have friends travelling to the US, I ask them to bring me some back. They have different flavours too, milk chocolate or the extra creamy milk chocolate with toffee and almonds.
The Hershey milk chocolate tastes different to what we’re used to in Europe, and probably an acquired taste, but the Hershey nuggets extra creamy milk chocolate with toffee and almonds are really yummy!
Box base details
I used the 6″x 6″ Silver & Gold paper which I got Free from Sale-a-bration with a £45 purchase. These papers restricted the number of Hershey nuggets I could include in each box. So I decided a single row of three would be perfect. How many ways can you think of to convey a message with three letters?
- Cut the paper 5-1/2″ x 3-7/8″ (13.8 cm x 9.5 cm)
- Score all 4 sides at 5/8″ and 1-1/4″ (1.5 cm and 3 cm)
- Orient paper on the short side and cut up to the second score line on all 4 score lines
- Rotate paper 180 degrees and repeat for opposite side.
- Remove the 4 outer rectangles.
Please refer to video tutorial for box assembly.
Lid of box
I used a window sheet so that it would display the contents. The lid fits inside the box rather than over the box so you need ribbon to tie around the whole of the box to keep it in place.
- Cut Window sheet 4″ x 2-3/8″ (10.8 cm x tad under 6.5 cm)
- Score all 4 sides @ 1/2″ (score all 4 sides at 1.5 cm)
- Cut 4 corners away, slightly angling cut.
Please refer to video tutorial for lid instructions.
Wrappers for Hershey nuggets
Cut 3 pieces of patterned paper of your choice 1″ x 3″ (2.5 cm x 7.5 cm).
