It’s Summer Fun for the Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop this July. With soaring temperatures and sunny skies Summer has arrived in normally dull and overcast England for sure! We’ve certainly had a lot of use out of our air-conditioning unit lately. It makes sleeping at night more comfortable!
The Tech 4 Stampers is a monthly subscription group run by Louise Sims. She mentors and enables members to understand IT jargon and equips them with a fountain of Technical knowledge to build or manage their own websites. It takes the mystery out of “tech” and I’ve certainly grown in confidence thanks to her expertise, patience and guidance. Not only that, I’ve met and made new friends with my fellow “Techs” and love the camaraderie within the group.
The Sunkissed stamp set from the July-December 2022 mini really evokes the feeling of summer. Palm trees blowing in the breeze is typical of the tropics. A reminder of azure blue seas, sandy beaches and blue skies in far away lands. If the weather’s good here – you can just as easily enjoy Britain’s coastlines instead of spending hard earned cash on flights abroad and reduce your carbon footprint! In the present climate when there is still so much uncertainty with regard to flight cancellations and reports of covid on the rise again, I’d much prefer to stay closer to home!
Card Front
The Sunkissed stamp set from the July-December 2022 mini was the perfect match for this month’s topic. I tore a scratch piece of copy paper and used it as a mask. Then I used a blending brush to add colour in Sahara Sand for the beach. I lay a second piece of scratch paper with the straight edge spaced further apart to blend the sea in Starry Sky. Both the palm trees and beach chairs and umbrella were also masked so that I could blend in the sky without blending the palm trees or beach chairs and umbrella. The sky has hues of So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, but is primarily Balmy Blue.
Inside card
For the inside of the card, I partially stamped the palm trees and hand drew the ground cover with a Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write marker. There is a small cluster of sea shells to the left of the card …so cute! I then added a touch of colour at the bottom with the blending brush in Sahara Sand and on the top, I used Balmy Blue. The reason for doing this was to soften the stark white colour of the card stock.
To complete the card, I stamped the sentiment to the left of the card to allow room for penning a few words.
