It’s week 5 in my 6-week Halloween Countdown series and today I have a Halloween box using the Design a treat box bundle. This is the sweetest little box which is tiny! When closed it is a 1-1/8″ cube (approximately 3 cm cube in metric).
What makes it adorable are the dies which coordinate with the “Design a Treat” photopolymer stamp set. There are dies to cut out the numbers from 0-9 which cuts out an oval background at the same time. So you could easily cut two complete sets of numbers then mix them up to make the numbers “pop”.
It’s not just for Halloween, there are dies for other animals to suit the changing of the seasons, and I’ll be making one to suit a christmas theme too – so watch out for that in my other series which is a 12-week Christmas Countdown series each Friday until the 2nd week of December.
You have to remove the bat wings to open the box. I attached Classic Matte Dots below the ears to make it more “bat-like”. It’s advisable not to attach anything on the semi-circular handles as then the two slide flaps will not be able to open.
Consequently, I die cut a pair of bat wings and adhered them together on the wing part, but omitted adhesive on the ears so that I could slip it over the handle of the box to keep it closed. Then I attached the eyes on this piece instead.
