Love theme cards – Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop

The theme for Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop in January is “Love”. In the newly launched January-April 2023 mini there is a lovely new stamp set and punch called Country Bouquet Bundle. The stamps are photopolymer which is clear so it’s a two-step stamping method and easier to line up. It also has a co-ordinating punch.

I made 3 cards, the first with just simple stamping, the second for the casual stamper and the last for the avid crafter.

Card 1 – Simple stamping

This is just simple stamping with no extras except the use of the coordinating Country Bouquet punch.

  1. The card base is half an A4 sheet folded in half.
  2. Stamp on a Basic White front layer 3 ¾” x 5 ½”. This is a two step stamping method. I mounted the floral heart on one side of the acrylic plate of my Stamparatus. On the reverse side, I aligned the leaf heart. I used Sweet Sorbet for the floral stamp, and Mint Macaron for the leaf stamp. Once both are stamped, it makes the heart whole.
  3. I punched a large heart in Basic White with the Country Bouquet punch then I inked up the open work heart in Balmy Blue, and placed the punched heart over the top as shown in pic on left.
  4. Stamp “for you” with Sweet Sorbet ink inside the open stamped Balmy Blue heart.
  5. Stamp “Just wanted to say…” in Sweet Sorbet.
  6. I stamped the solid striped heart in Balmy Blue and punched it out with Country Bouquet punch. Then I adhered it to the inside of card.

Card 2 – Casual Crafter

Stepping this up for the casual crafter, I added a pack of Country Gingham 6″x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Papers. There are 48 sheets in the pack, 8 sheets each of 6 double sided designs in 4 colours.

  1. Same size card base in Balmy Blue as for Card 1.
  2. Cut and adhere 3 ½” x 5 ¼” (9 cm x 13.5 cm) piece of Country Gingham 6″x 6″ DSP.
  3. Basic White Layer : cut at 3″ x 5″ (7.5 cm x 12.5 cm) – use the two step stamping method on the heart with Sweet Sorbet and Mint Macaron inks.
  4. Stamp the hearts pair of hearts on Basic White c/s and punch out. Adhere to card front with dimensionals.
  5. Punch out the heart and leaves from the Country Gingham 6″x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) DSP and adhere with dimensionals.
  6. Stamp “for you” with Sweet Sorbet ink in bottom right corner.
  7. Adhere Basic White layer 3 ¾” x 5 ½” (9.5 cm x 14 cm) and adhere DSP to bottom and stamp sentiment and hearts as shown.

Card 3 – Avid Crafter

I added extra card stock for the mat layers, the Country Floral Lane 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) DSP and the Pastel adhesive-backed sequins.

  1. Same card size as for Card 1 and 2.
  2. Cut and adhere Basic White mat layer 3 ⅝” x 5 ⅜” (9.2 cm x 13.7 cm) to card base.
  3. Country Gingham DSP: cut and adhere 3 ½” x 5 ¼” (9 cm x 13.5 cm) on top of Basic White layer leaving even border all round.
  4. Balmy Blue mat layer : cut 2 ⅞” x 4 ⅝ ” (7.3 cm x 11.7 cm).
  5. Cut Basic White mat layer : 2 ¾” x 4 ½” (7 cm x 11.4 cm). Stamp floral heart in Sweet Sorbet and leaf heart in Mint Macaron. Adhere this to Balmy Blue mat layer.
  6. Repeat step 5 as in Card 2.
  7. Stamp sentiment “With love” in Balmy Blue on Basic White card stock. Cut a flag end to left of the word “with”.
  8. Adhere to Sweet Sorbet layer and trim with slim border.
  9. Then adhere this to a Mint Macaron layer and trim leaving an even border all round.
  10. Punch out the hearts and leaves from the Country Floral sheet which coordinates with the punch and adhere this to card front with dimensionals. Then adhere the combined layers at an angle to main card front.
  11. Next adhere the “with love” label to the card front as shown in picture.
  12. Cut and adhere Basic White layer 3 ¾” x 5 ½” (9.5 cm x 14 cm) and adhere DSP to bottom and stamp sentiment and hearts as shown. This time I used “Happy Valentine’s Day”.
