Happy Sunday’s feature today is a masculine birthday card made with the Legendary Ride bundle. I made this card for my son. After I made it, I did wonder if I’d made a mistake giving him ideas about getting a Harley Davidson! Safety first, I’d rather he was protected driving a car than being exposed on a motorbike!
I’ve been itching to use the Alphabet a la Mode dies. As they are tall and thin, I stuck silver foil on an adhesive sheet before die cutting the letters for his name. The other item I used is the new Metal Plate 3D embossing folder.
Card details
- Card Base Pacific Point : 8 ¼” x 7″ (21 cm x 18 cm) folded in half.
- Mat layer card front Coastal Cabana : 8 ⅛” x 3 ¼” (20.5 cm x 8.5 cm) Emboss this with the Metal Plate 3D embossing folder. Tip: As this c/s is longer than embossing folder, you’ll have to do it in two halves. Just remember to align pattern and make sure you’re embossing it the same side up as you did previously. Adhere to card base.
- Basic White layer 2 card front : 3 ⅛” x 5 ⅝” (8 cm x 14.5 cm). Place Watercolor World stamp in Stamparatus, if you have one, or on an F block. Add ink in Pool Party on lower half, Bermuda Bay in the middle and Pacific Point on the top with sponge daubers then stamp to create that ombre look. Adhere to embossed mat layer to the left. Ensure the left, top and bottom on 3 sides has an even border.
- Adhere Silver Foil to foam adhesive sheet and die cut letters to spell out the name. Adhere die cut letters on top of Watercolor World stamped piece.
- Die cut the silhouette of the motorbike in Pacific Point c/s.
- On silver foil adhesive backed piece, also die cut the handle bars and wheel arches in silver foil and the leather ribbed seat in Pacific Point.
- Remove backing and adhere silver pieces as shown as well as the seat.
- Stamp the inside of the card with the birthday greeting and the smaller motorbike (not pictured) to complete card.
That’s all from me today. I very much doubt my son will read my blog, so no spoilers there! Besides it’ll be after his birthday when I post this.
