Happy Mother’s Day ! It’s Mothering Sunday in the UK today. I lose track of which day it is in other countries because they’re all different! It’s a day we pause for a moment to honour those who take on a mothering role, or are mothers themselves or mothers to fur babies. Thank you for all you do! Being a mother myself – I’ll give myself a pat on the back too! lol!
This is a quick card – although the stamp set says Marigold, I rather liked it in Orchid Oasis colours. It looks rather like corn flower blue the sort of perfect blue for sapphires!
One of the Marigold Moments dies surprised me. I thought it would cut out a scalloped edge. In fact it does, but you have to leave a generous border to cut out the little fancy strip which marries up with the scallops on the negative bit.
I embossed a piece of Orchid Oasis cut at 3 ¾” x 5 ½” with the polka dot 3D embossing folder from the Online Exclusives Basics 3D Embossing Folders. To make the polka dots “pop”, I ran a White Kraft Ink pad over the dots.
Next I die cut the scalloped edge with Country Gingham 6″x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) DSP, adhere this to the card front and I also die cut a piece in Orchid Oasis. I married up the scallops with the arcs on the Orchid Oasis strip.
Lastly, I adhered the floral images, white embossed “Happy Mother’s Day” and adhered it with dimensionals.
For the inside of the card, I stamped, die cut and adhered the smaller floral image. It was left blank so you could pen a few words.
