Today I have a Mother’s Day Card made with Marigold Moments and some Online Exclusive goodies like the Basics 3D embossing folders. There are 3 patterns in the Basics 3D embossing folders and I’m using the floral one first.
This is a clean, simple card and pretty minimalist for me. I suppose it would come under the casual crafter rather than for a beginner. As a casual crafter you might own a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine. The Online Exclusive Basics 3D embossing folders require the larger machine.
Embossing folders are a great way for using as a background. Rather than use coloured card stock, I cut a piece of Basic White 3 ¾” x 5 ½” (9.5 cm x 14 cm), embossed it then used a blending brush to add colour with Granny Apple Green ink to give it a softer look.
As I was making more than one of the same card, I used the Stamparatus to help me. To save time, I grouped the floral stamps on one plate, and the leaves on the second plate. Doing it this way means that I can ink up the stamps with one ink colour without fear of contaminating the other stamps.
