Slimline card with Fragrant Flowers

Today I have a Slimline card using Fragrant Flowers stamp set. It was one of the items featured in Sale-a-bration and now that it is well and truly over I am re-visiting some of the stamp sets featured during this period. During Sale-a-bration you were able to get the Favored Flowers 12″x 12″ DSP coordinating papers for free if you placed an order for the Fragrant Flowers bundle or placed an order of £45. To be honest I found it difficult to work with such a strong colour palette i.e., Basic Black, Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Evening Evergreen, Fresh Freesia and Petal Pink.

Unusual background

Now that I’m not restricted by having to feature what is in the Sale-a-bration brochure, I’ve made a quick easy “thank you” card with the same bundle, but with completely different papers. Did you see the Like the Animal 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Specialty Designer Series Papers? There are six 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) double sided design sheets with Basic Gray, Early Espresso, gold, Sahara Sand, silver, Soft Suede colour palette. It can be used in a variety of ways, as backgrounds for a scrapbook page, or for a card or cut them into smaller pieces to use as accents on a project.

Card details

• Card base is Basic White Thick cut 7″ x 8 ½”(18 cm x 21.5 cm) and folded in half.
• First mat layer : Smoky Slate 3 ¼” x 8 ¼” (8.5 cm x 21 cm)
• Second mat layer : Like an Animal Specialty DSP 3″ x 8″ (8 cm x 20.5 cm)
• I stamped the large floral image twice in Smoky Slate, then used a blending brush to add a hint of colour in Petal Pink for the flowers and Soft Sea foam for the leaves.
• Next I die cut one of the large floral image and fussy cut just the flowers on the second. Flowers were adhered with dimensionals to card base.
• “Thanks” stamped with Versamark and white embossed on Smoky Slate card stock and die cut with Fragrant Flowers Dies.
• Tie a bow with Simply Elegant trim and adhere with glue dot.
