Centre step card with Rhino Ready

Today I have a fun fold centre step card made with Rhino Ready cling stamps and Rhino Ready dies, both of which are Online Exclusives. I suddenly realised that June is almost upon us and Father’s Day is not far off on June 18th. Consequently I have had to re-shuffle my schedule and squeeze in masculine themed cards from today onwards.

It’s been such a long time since I made a centre step card that I had to google myself and dig into my archives to find one I’d made previously! There are different orientations for a centre-step card. You can see a portrait one HERE, but today’s one is in landscape and for this you need to cut your card base from a 12″x 12″ (30.5 cm x 30.5 cm) sheet.

The most economical way is to buy a Basic White pack which contains 12 sheets. It is the same weight as the Basic White. Adding mat layers strengthens it. However, if you wish to purchase the colour family option (which is the same weight as the A4 coloured card stock) whether it is Subtles, Neutrals, Brights or Regals, these packs contain 20 sheets with 2 each of 10 colours. The other alternatives are the In Colors – these packs also contain 20 sheets, 4 each of 5 colours.

Card details

You need a trimmer so that you can make cuts inside the card. Then some simple scoring will allow you to create the Centre-step shape.

To strengthen the card, I added some Old Olive card stock to the panels. The side panels, centre panel and the stopper were dry embossed with the Fern 3D embossing folder.

The sentiment is from the Wonderful Thoughts Photopolymer stamp set. I only used the stamps, but there are also dies which coordinate with it and can be purchased together as a bundle saving you 10%.

Inside card

In the interest of simplifying the card and saving on card stock, I simply put a stopper cut out of Old Olive card stock. As there wasn’t a sentiment for Father’s Day, I stamped a combination of sentiments on some Basic White scrap and cut the sentiments up to spell “Happy Dad Day”.
