Embroidery card with Crafting with You

Happy Sunday! I couldn’t help but do some French knots on this Embroidery card with the Crafting With You Bundle. I am planning a Crafting with You Series every Wednesday and Friday for a fortnight beginning Wednesday 21 June, 2023. Episode #1 will be published Wednesday 21 June, episode #2 on Friday 23 June, episode #3 on Wednesday 28 June and the final episode #4 on Friday 30 June, 2023.

I work ahead, so even after I’d filmed the “finale” and final episode, I couldn’t help myself and created this embroidery card as a prequel to my Crafting with You Series.

For anyone who loves to do cross stitch or embroidery, I hope they’ll appreciate this added touch!

How to achieve two-tone effect on embroidery hoop

The screw is usually made of gold or silver colour metal. If you want authenticity, here’s how to achieve it. Die cut the hoop out of Basic White card stock then mask the hoop part and use a blending brush or sponge dauber to add Smoky Slate or a gold colour as you wish.

Then I reverse the masking so that the screw bit is masked and colour the hoop in a woody colour, so you can choose Crumb Cake, or Pecan Pie.

Stampin the embroidery bit

For the embroidery bit, I stamped the single flower in Berry Burst, removed the Berry Burst ink from the leaves with a shammy. Then I used a Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker to ink up the leaves, huff on the stamp to re-moisten it before stamping it on the project. Then I embossed it with one of the Basics 3D embossing folders before adhering it inside the hoop.

Extras

Die cut the cotton reels in Crumb Cake. Cut cotton bits with Garden Green, Berry Burst, Bubblebath and Basic White and adhere these to the cotton reels. The buttons were also die cut with the same scraps of card stock.

Sentiment

I stamped and fussy cut “handcrafted” out and adhered it above the “with love” sentiment.
