In week 4 of my 12 week Christmas Countdown series I have a magical Sparkling Snowflakes gift box. These scalloped gift boxes can be decorated in a variety of ways. This time instead of using pretty paper, I used blending brushes and masks to decorate it. To keep the box closed, I used two pairs of magnets on either end of the box, so the ribbon and tag is purely for decoration.
Blending Brushes
- Mask before blending front of box in Night of Navy
- Scallop portion of lid – Mask and blend in Misty Moonlight
- Top of Lid – use Abundant Decorative Mask Snowflake pattern to mask and blend in Misty Moonlight
Inside lid mat layers
- Gold & Silver adhesive backed 12″x 12″ paper – Cut a silver piece 2 ¾” x 4″ (7 cm x 10.2 cm)
- First mat layer: Gut the inside of the Silver glimmer paper by cutting ¼” (0.5 cm) border on all four sides. Set aside so that you can use inside of silver glimmer paper to cut a mat layer for label.
- Second mat layer : Misty Moonlight 2 ⅝” x 3 ⅞” (6.6 cm x 9.8 cm)
- Third mat layer : Basic White 2 ½” x 3 ¾” (6.3 cm x 9.5 cm)
Label
- Basic White : punch out a label with Sparkling Snowflakes Tag topper punch. Trim both sides so overall width of the tag is 1 ⅛” (2.9 cm).
- Trim tag to the desired length. Create flag tail.
- From Gold & Silver adhesive backed frame, create a mat layer for the tag ⅛” larger (0.3 cm)
- Scrape glitter off the size of a dimensional in two places so you can then attach the Snowflake punched tag topper label on top.
- Lastly trim flag tail leaving ⅛” (0.3 cm) border also.
Extras – not supplied by Stampin’ Up!
*2 pairs of Neodymium Magnets 8 mm diameter x 1 mm thick (5/16″ diameter x 1/16″ thick).
*These magnets are very thin and small. I concealed them in the fold of the box front but left the one on the lid exposed. Optional to cover this up also, but I didn’t want the extra layers to reduce pull of the magnets.
