Today I’m going to show you how to make a Get well card with the Choose Happy stamp set. Last week I made 3 cards using this stamp set. You can see the cards HERE. The Choose Happy stamp set is a stand alone stamp set. Consequently, you can step the card up with any dies, papers or embellishments in order to create a card to suit the occasion.
Remember the old adage – “An apple a day keeps the Doctor away” so it seemed logical to use the words “choose” and “healing” from the stamp set to make my get well card.
Card details
- Standard card base – Lost Lagoon half A4 sheet folded in half.
- Highland Heather mat layer ¼” smaller than card front. I darkened the edges with Highland Heather ink with a blending brush and used the blade of the scissors to ruck up the edges to make it pop.
- Cut Perennial Lavender DSP ⅛” smaller than the Highland Heather mat layer. On long side, align left edge at 2 ¼” (6 cm) and cut into 2 pieces.
- Adhere the smaller piece to the bottom leaving an even border on the sides and bottom. Flip paper over for a different pattern and butt it up to bottom piece – align it so that the two sides and top edge have an even border and adhere to Highland Heather mat layer.
- Cut a strip of Lost Lagoon 1/2″ x same width as DSP and adhere it to hide the join between the two different patterns of DSP.
- Die cut the frame from Unbounded Love Dies in Highland Heather card stock and one in Basic White. You can discard the inside piece of the Highland Heather frame and insert the Basic White one so that it leaves a slight ridge once it’s glued down.
- Stamp “Choose Healing” in Highland Heather inside frame and the star in Lost Lagoon ink. Adhere label to right of card front centred on the strip of Lost Lagoon.
- On a scrap of Basic White, stamp 3 apples in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colour with Stampin’ Blends : Shaded Spruce, Lost Lagoon, Pecan Pie combos. Fussy cut apples.
- Attach the apples with dimensionals and finish with embellishments using Purple fine shimmer gems.
Inside card
- Cut Basic White layer ¼” smaller than card front and adhere to inside of card leaving an even border on all 4 sides.
- Adhere ¼” strip of DSP to left of Basic White layer as pictured below.
- Stamp and colour in the apple with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and Shaded Spruce, Lost Lagoon and Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends combos.
