Clear embossing is such a simple technique, especially since we now have the Stampin’ Positioner tool. You can clear emboss in any colour simply by stamping in the colour of your choice, clean the stamp and then stamp again in Versamark.

Having the Stampin’ Positioner tool means that you can be sure that you will stamp in exactly the same position as you stamped previously. Stamp first in a colour ink of your choice, clean stamp then ink with Versamark and stamp a second time. Sprinkle clear embossing powder over it and heat set!

In this sample, I’ve clear embossed over Hydrangea Hue ink. Just think – there are 50 colours in Stampin’ Up!’s range so imagine the possibilities!

Cutting guide

1. Card base : Hydrangea Hue cut at 5 ¾” x 8 ¼” (14.5 cm x 21 cm) and folded in half.
2. Barely Blush layer : 5 ¾” x 4 ⅛” (14.5 cm x 10.5 cm) – place on Eyelet Blooms die and die cut. Carefully peel off to release from die. It’s very detailed so be gentle lest it tears.
3. Scrap of Hydrangea Hue – stamp in Versamark and sprinkle with White embossing powder. Heat set then fussy cut.
4. Stamp Barely Blush scrap on Stampin’ Positioner tool in Hydrangea Hue. Clean stamp then stamp in Versarmark. Sprinkle with Clear embossing powder and heat set. Punch out with Exciting Times punch.
5. On scrap of Barely Blush stamp butterflies in Hydrangea Hue followed by Versamark on the Stampin’ Positioner tool. Sprinkle with clear embossing power and punch butterflies out with All Aflutter punch.

Inside card

1. Basic White layer : 5 ½” x 3 ⅞” (14 cm x 10 cm)
2. Stamp sentiments from Scalloped Blooms stamp set with Hydrangea Hue ink.
3. Adhere remaining all aflutter butterfly to inside of card.

How to assemble card

1. Adhere the Barely Blush die cut Eyelet Blooms piece on card front.
2. Apply dimensionals on back of embossed fussy cut Hydrangea Hue Exciting Times label.
3. Repeat for the punched clear embossed “Let’s Celebrate” label and adhere to Hydrangea Hue label.
4. Use glue dots to adhere two of the punched All Aflutter butterflies as pictured.
5. Adhere 2026-2028 In color dot in bottom right corner of Hydrangea Hue label.

Inside card

1. Stamp birthday greeting from Scalloped Blooms stamp set in Hydrangea Hue on Basic White layer.
2. Adhere remaining punched All Aflutter butterfly in bottom left corner, then adhere Basic White layer inside card leaving an even border on all 4 sides.
