This gatefold card with a slide and lock mechanism is surprisingly easy to make. The first one I made, I used a smaller scalloped frame and found that the slide and lock mechanism kept on “popping out”. After having filmed the video tutorial in the early hours, I didn’t have the energy to re-jig it, so went to bed and re-filmed it when dawn broke.
It’s such a pity that the Scalloped Contour dies were either too small or too large, because they are really pretty. In the end, I found the the largest die in the Stitched So Sweetly die set fitted the bill and I could increase the size of the slide and lock mechanism to rectify the “popping out” problem.
I fussy cut an ice lolly from the Designer Series paper – it really looks yummy and makes my mouth water!
