Twitterpated!

I almost gave myself a coronary when my Hostess mentioned doing something with fabric!  I’m no seamstress and thank goodness for my Stampin’ Up! sisters – they came up with suggestions with what I could do without too much technical difficulty!  I cut these flowers using the Bigz XL Flowers Fold die (AC193)  – stacked up 4 layers of fabric and cut through 4 layers at once.  They were folded in half, and layered on top of each other, then sewn together in the middle – making sure all layers were secure.

I then hand washed  and scrunched up the layers and left them to dry scrunched up, attached a brad (the one I used is a fabric covered one from the Pop Up Posies Designer kit – SS 18) then hot glued the flowers to felt backing (non-SU), brooch back to the back – and hey presto, you have a brooch!

For this hair accessory, I  cut 5 circles from the Circles #2 Originals die, folded these into quarters, and sewed each quarter on to a smaller circle to secure it.  To embellish the centre, I hot glued a black button, clear faceted button and pearl on top of each other.

To finish, I hot glued it to a large circle the same size and attached the clip.    I really surprised myself and was thrilled with the result.  Just goes to show, you never know what you can do until you try it! Stampin’ Up! does not carry findings, felt or hot glue guns.
