As promised here is the tutorial for a partially embossed image using the Embossing Folders. First I cut a piece of chipboard measuring 5″ x 6.25″ and then traced and cut out an oval from the centre of the chipboard – I used the chipboard backing from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty Papers bundle back in November 2010 – I knew it would come in handy one day! Tip: Take your time cutting out the oval with your craft knife, I found working on a small section at a time was best. I flipped the chipboard over and cut from the reverse side too for a cleaner line. Apart from the chipboard, craft knife and self-healing cutting mat, other supplies you will need are the Big Shot, Big Shot multi-purpose platform, one of the cutting plates, card stock and an embossing folder. The rest of the instructions are self-explanatory. 
The thickness of your shims will vary from machine to machine. Just experiment to see what works best for yours. 
The centre of the image which doesn’t make contact with the cardstock will not be embossed.
Save the middle of the oval cut out, you can reverse the effect, so the centre of your card will be embossed, but not the outer rim as shown above. I hope you enjoyed the tutorial. Thanks for stopping by. Do leave a comment and let me know how you get on!
