I was initially flummoxed as to what to create with the Brilliant Wings dies as the stamps which accompany it is on back order and had not arrived. Nevertheless, I went ahead and made this fancy fold card without any stamps.
With partial parallel cuts and strategic scoring and folding, this is what the card looks like when you open and stand it up. I cut two “T” bar mat layer sections. The one on the right had an extra layer of patterned paper called Butterfly Bijou.
I used the Brilliant Wings dies to die cut a butterfly from the Butterfly Bijou papers. These papers measure 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) and there are 48 sheets in the pack. Unlike other packs of paper, these only have six double sided designs and eight sheets of each design. An extra open work butterfly was die cut out of vellum which I adhered to the Butterfly Bijou paper one to enhance it, then added some basic rhinestone jewels along its body .
The sentiment was stamped in Just Jade and punched out with Treasured Tags pick a punch.
Here is a close up of the card when closed. I embossed one of the Just Jade “T” bar sections before cutting and reserved the two small off cuts. These were then trimmed to fit the corner panels.
If you look closely, the “inside” of the card (Basic White piece) was also partially embossed to add interest.
I’ve created a video tutorial here, so grab a cuppa and see how this all came together.
