I am so excited to be sharing this card with a floating technique with you today. A couple of years ago, when the floating technique was trending, I shared a card which you can see HERE. It needed quite a lot of effort and patience to create it. I am delighted that Stampin’ Up! has introduced the Floating and Fluttering stamp set and Fluttering dies to enable us to create the same effect a whole lot easier. It’s a time saver for sure!
Sadly, this bundle, called the “Floating and Fluttering Bundle” is due to retire at the end of June. You’ll find it on page 61 of the January-June 2021 Mini.
The stamp set does not carry any sentiments so I’ve paired it with “Very Versailles” which will still be with us next year.
My card base was in Seaside Spray. I cut another strip of Seaside Spray so I could emboss it separately. The embossing folders I used are the Greenery embossing folders. They come in a pair with 2 different designs and each folder measures 6-1/4″ x 3-3/8″ (15.9 x 8.6 cm). The folders are a standard thickness and were manufactured in this size so that it could be used with the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.
The Basic White panels were adhered with adhesive foam strips to create the “floating effect” . I used the Stampartus to help keep everything in position as the Floating & Fluttering Photopolymer stamp set is a 3 step stamping one. It’s a stamp positioning tool, and once you’ve set up your stamps, repetitive stamping is plain sailing.
Watch how it came together and press play on the YouTube video I’ve created for you.
