Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day! This is the card I made for my hubby. The Love & Happiness stamp set has such a plethora of sentiments. There are wedding anniversary sentiments and for a wedding day. Also one for an engagement as well as Valentines.

Here’s the one I made for my hubby. I used the Bouquet of Love hybrid embossing folder. The logo side of the embossing folder was inked with Whisper White kraft ink before I embossed and die cut the heart. This one is masculine, of course. Just by changing the type of card stock you can have a more feminine look which you can see HERE.

The Heart & Home Suite carries the Heart & Home 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) designer series papers. On the reverse, there are wood patterns of some desciption and these were ideal for a “masculine” look.

The card base is Basic White thick and I adhere a Basic Grey mat layer to make the Heart & Home DSP “pop”. I embossed some 1/2″ strips of Basic Grey I had left over with the Timber 3D embossing folder and adhered these to the card front to add some texture and interest.

Lastly, I stamped the Valentine Greetings for my husband in the bottom right corner on my Stamparatus to ensure I’d stamped it straight.

Inside card

Having Aussie roots, I just had to include these cute Koalas from “Count on Me”. It was stamped and coloured in on the left because alcohol markers tend to bleed. Having several layers already on the front of the card, it made sense to stamp it there!
