Ombre technique with Here Together

Today I have an ombre technique with Here Together stamp set. It also incorporates a masking technique. ” Here Together” stamp set is part of the All Together Collection released on 1 February 2022 and will be available until 2 May 2022. Also in the collection is a set of dies called “Here for You dies”. Included in the collection is a pack of “All Together 6″ x 6” (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Paper. The stamps, dies and papers are available while stocks last.

The star in the collection are the Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends Collection. These are the new skin tone blends which are numbered 100 for the deepest colour up to 1000 for the lightest. You can purchase the whole collection with 10 markers. They can also be purchased as Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack which comes in pairs

• 1000 & 900 – Light
• 800 &700 – Medium Light
• 600 & 500 – Medium
• 400 & 300 – Medium Deep
• 200 & 100 – Deep

Ombre Technique

To create an ombre effect you need to select three shades of colour in dark, medium and light in the same colour family. Each colour is applied to a third of your card stock with a blending brush. The colours I chose were Pumpkin Pie, Bumblebee, and So Saffron.

1. Bottom third – Pumpkin Pie (darkest)
2. Middle third – Bumblebee (medium)
3. Top third – So Saffron (lightest)

Masking Technique

In order to leave the stamped hands white, I had to use a masking technique. Stamp the same image on a post-it note and fussy cut it to use as a mask. On the card stock, stamp the same hand image and then adhere the mask on top. Leave the mask in situ until after you’ve blended the rest of the card with the ombre effect. Remove mask and you can then colour the hands with the Natural Tones markers.

Inside card

Just some simple stamping for the inside of the card in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and Pumpkin Pie.
