Gift box with compartments – Sweet Farewell

I made this gift box with compartments using the Sweet Farewell stamp set which is due to retire on May 2nd, 2022. It’s sad that one of my favourite blues, Misty Moonlight from the 2020-2022 In Colour collection is retiring at the same time. It’s been a popular colour and has sold out during the last chance list sale. I hope you managed to bag yourself some reinkers if it’s one of your favourites.

Needless to say, I’m also using up the card stock as I won’t be able to feature it after 2 May. The box base is constructed from 12″ x 12″ (30.5 30.5 cm) cardstock. The box is 8-1/4″ long, 4″ wide and 1-1/4″ deep.

I also made a z-fold card to match the box, but the video only covers how to make the box.

The inside is divided into four compartments to hold a hand sanitizer, packet of Ricola sugar free Swiss Herbal Sweets, 30 ml tube of Cath Kidston handcream and Bee Hive balm and some mints which I popped into a cello bag and stapled to fill the space.

Box measurements

Imperial

1. Box Base : 11 ¾” x 10 ½”. Long side on top score at 1 ¼”, 5 ¼” 6 ½”, 10 ½”.
2. Rotate c/s a quarter turn so short side is on top and score at 1 ¼” and 9 ¼”.
3. Basic White Mat layer 1 to decorate lid of box : 7 ¼” x 3″.
4. Misty Moonlight Mat layer 2 : 7 ⅛” x 2 ⅞”.
5. Designer Series paper of your choice (I used You’re a Peach DSP) 7″ x 2 ¾”

Dividers

1. Long divider : 9 ½” x 3 ⅞”. Long side score at 4″, 4 ¾” and 5 ½”.
2. *Short dividers : Cut 2 pieces 3 ⅞” x 5 ½”.

*Short dividers – scoring measurements may vary depending on what product you put inside the box. Measure the width of your product and score ¾” on either side – one to go up, and the other to go down on both pieces. Please refer to video.

Belly Band

1. Cut a strip of card stock 2″ x A4 length.
2. Extra scraps of card stock to die cut tags in coordinating colours.

Metric

1. Box Base : 29 cm x 26 cm. Long side on top score at 3 cm, 13 cm, 16 cm, 26 cm.
2. Rotate c/s a quarter turn so short side is on top and score at 3 cm and 23 cm.
3. Basic White Mat layer 1 to decorate lid of box : 17.5 cm x 7.5 cm.
4. Misty Moonlight Mat layer 2 : 17 cm x 7 cm.
5. Designer Series paper of your choice (I used You’re a Peach DSP) 16.5 cm x 6.5 cm.

Dividers

1. Long divider : 9 ½” x 3 ⅞”. Long side score at 4″, 4 ¾” and 5 ½”.
2. *Short dividers : Cut 2 pieces 3 ⅞” x 5 ½”.
