Today’s fun fold is an inverted diamond on the card front with the Season of Chick bundle from the Annual catalogue. The original design was by Iced Images (non SU). She amalgamated two designs to create this fold as a vertical easel card, but I’ve had to adapt it so it would fit in a C6 envelope.
This one was a bit of a challenge because of all the angles. I wanted to try and find an easy solution to cut the layer of pattern paper because doing it on the trimmer is really quite tricky and difficult to explain. Consequently I decided the way forward was to simply create a template with which you could easily trace the angles on the pattern paper or DSP and then cut it with a pair of scissors.
To create my template, I used Basic White card front cut 4-1/8″ x 5-3/4″ (10.5 cm x 14.5 cm). The instructions on how to create the template for cutting the DSP is in the video tutorial.
Card closed
With the card closed, you can see the score lines more clearly to create that diamond effect. It’s also easy to pop it in an envelop as snail mail.
Distressed Gold Specialty Paper
There is a pack of Distressed Gold Specialty Paper with 2 sheets measuring 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm). It is single sided design and is part of the Texture Chic Suite Collection. I cut off a 2″ strip and added an adhesive sheet behind it before die cutting the flowers and leaves from the Chic dies set.

The photo on the left shows the inverted diamond. It reminds me of cards which use this type of fold to look like a monster’s mouth! Great for kiddies cards, don’t you think?
You can see there’s a strip of card stock on the side raised on dimensionals which is not only decorative but acts as a stopper when the card is upright – too hard to explain so I’ve included a photo of an “aerial” view.
