Christmas Gift bag with Pretty birds

Can you believe we’re half way through my 12 Week Christmas Countdown series and in week 6, I have a decorated a Christmas bag with the Pretty Birds bundle as well as the Ringed with Nature bundle.

The Ringed with Nature bundle has a hybrid embossing folder and the folder and dies are pictured below. I die cut a tree ring and suspended it with the chain link which I die cut from the Birdhouse Dies out of silver foil. At the same time, I die cut the bell out of silver foil as well. Both of these dies together with the front facing budgie comes from the Birdhouse Dies set.

In my two previous Sunday blog posts, I featured different ways you can use this Pretty Birds bundle. One was a card with a stain glass technique which you can see HERE, and the other was a different technique using the dies to create a background which you can see HERE. Today I’m using it in a Christmas context.

Confession time!

I’m sure I made something previously with these gorgeous embossed bags – but could I find them? You can see the Stampin’ Up!’s Embossed Treat bag I used HERE. Rather than mess up my schedule, I pressed ahead to make this video and in the meantime ordered a new pack. Fortunately I had a description of the size and depth, so made my own in the interim. The bag  4-3/4″ x 6-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ (12.1 x 16.5 x 3.8 cm) so even the 12″ x 12″ Basic White card stock wasn’t long enough to create it in one piece , so I made it in two halves. Can you tell the difference? It would be interesting to see how my home-made version compares with it.

Details

I die cut a “hoop” using the largest of the Tree Rings Hybrid embossing folder dies in Soft Suede. All the leaves and berries were cut in Basic White and then coloured in with Stampin’ Write marker pens in Soft Suede, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler.

The bird was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and Pale Papaya.
