Masculine birthday card – Wildlife Wonder

Hello, in today’s Sunday share this is the card I made for my hubby – masculine birthday card made with Wildlife Wonder. I bought this set because hubby is into field archery and a lot of the 3D targets are woodland creatures or wildlife. He’d never condone shooting real life creatures, but synthetic ones are ok.

In the stamp set, there is also an owl, a fox, a stamp for ground cover and some foliage. I took my inspiration from the catalogue, but as usual, tweaked it to make it my own. If you look carefully at the sample in the catalogue, the foliage appears to be from the willow dies which I don’t have, so I used an alternative. The closest match were individual sprigs die cut from the Natural Prints dies.

1. The card base is a standard card in Mossy Meadow measuring 5-7/8″ x 8-1/4″ (14.5 cm x 21 cm) and folded in half.
2. Cut a piece of Sahara Sand 2-1/2″ x 4-1/8″ (6.5 cm x 10.5 cm) and stamp the Bear in Early Espresso Ink. Ink the ground stamp and stamp off first before stamping on your project and align it underneath the bear’s paws.
3. Die cut several sprigs of leaves in Mossy Meadow with the Natural Prints leaf sprig die. Run Stampin’ Seal on a tiny piece of c/s no wider than the label so you can attach the sprigs to it, then adhere this to the right of the bear’s rear end.
4. Cut a piece of Cajun Craze 1″ x 1-3/4″ (2.5 cm x 4.5 cm).
5. Stamp “to a great guy” in Early Espresso on a scrap of Sahara Sand and trim this to 1- 1/4″ x 1-1/8″ (3.2 cm x 3 cm). Adhere this to the Cajun Craze layer 1/8″ (0.3 cm) from the top. Cut a flat end at the bottom Cajun Craze piece. Attach stampin’ dimensionals to the back and adhere on top of the leaves.
6. Adhere the stamped 2-1/2″ x 4-1/8″ (6.5 cm x 10.5 cm) piece toward the bottom half of card front. Ensure you leave sufficient room to stamp “sending birthday wishes”.
7. Stamp and white emboss “sending birthday wishes” at the bottom right of the card.
8. Cut a piece of Mossy Meadow 2-3/4″ x 4-1/8″ (7 cm x 10.5 cm) and emboss this with the Fern 3D embossing folder. Adhere to top half of card.

Card details inside card

1. Cut a Very Vanilla piece 3-3/4″ x 5-1/2″ (9.5 x 14 cm) for the inside
2. Stamp the fern stamp from Nature’s Prints stamp set in Mossy Meadow. Without re-inking stamp twice more in bottom left corner. Repeat in top right corner but use the tip of the stamp only.
3. Ink up the ink splatter stamp in Mossy Meadow, and stamp off each time before stamping on to card and stamp repeatedly without re-inking the stamp across the middle of the card.
4. Stamp the “wishing you everything wonderful” sentiment in Early Espresso on top of the Mossy Meadow ink splatters.
