Embossed birthday card – Sweet Citrus. Today I’m sharing an embossed birthday card using the hybrid embossing folder from Sweet Citrus. Whoever came up with the concept of an embossing folder that embossed and cut the embossed pieces at the same time is a genius! It’s not just for lemons. Just by changing the colour you can have lime, oranges or ruby grapefruit!

The Sweet Citrus hybrid embossing folder is fabulous! There are two layers on the card front. The first is a mat layer in Daffodil Delight and the second is in Flirty Flamingo and embossed with the Sweet Citrus hybrid embossing folder. In fact, this layer has been die cut and embossed at the same time.

I was able to use the apertures as a guide to place my inked and die cut pieces on dimensionals. This created a bit of height so I could tuck the foliage in behind. I cut the width of the ribbon in half as it was too wide. Unfortunately it does fray, so I had to treat it with a fray check product to stop that from happening. The frayed white ribbon is one of the new items added to Sale-a-bration choices. To redeem it as a free Sale-a-bration item, be aware you need to use the special item code 164420.

I’d stamped the slice, cross-section, 3-dimensional and whole lemon in various colours eg, Pumpkin Pie for oranges, Daffodil Delight for lemons, Granny Apple Green for limes and so on.

I didn’t want to waste the Basic White piece I’d embossed as a trial run, so I adhered it to the back of the front of the card to hide the ribbon.
