Lattice card with Cheerful Daisies

I haven’t been able to stop playing with the Cheerful Daisies bundle and this time I made a lattice card or trellis card, depending on which side of the pond you are. This card is unique in that you get to see both sides of the patterned paper or DSP (Designer Series Paper).

How to make the card

Wherever you are, whether in the States or Canada, South Pacific or Europe, UK or Ireland, just simply cut your A4 sheet in half length-ways to create your card base. Here in the UK and Ireland, this will measure 4 ⅛”  x 11 ¾” (10.5 cm x 29 cm). Simply fold it in half and on one half, cut off 3 ¼” (9.5 cm). You then cut this piece into five ½” strips (1.5 cm). Cut the remaining piece in half for the struts of the trellis to hold the horizontal strips together.

Inside card

I cut a piece of the Fresh as a Daisy 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) DSP the same size as the card front. This is adhered to the inside of the front of the card (behind the lattice/trellis) so that it is visible through the lattice work. The reverse side of the DSP is visible when you open the card.

A mat layer for the inside bottom of the card was cut ⅛” (0.5 cm) smaller than the card front in Pretty Peacock, and the Basic White layer ¼” (1 cm) smaller than the card front.

To embellish the card inside, I stamped the daisy with Versamark on Pretty Peacock card stock and white embossed it, die cut it and adhered it to the bottom right of the Basic White layer. I stamped the flower centre in Copper Clay on Basic White scrap, fussy cut this and adhered it on to the white embossed daisy.

The colour palette is Pretty Peacock ( a returning colour), Copper Clay (new 2023-2025 In Color), and Lemon Lolly (new color in the Subtles Collection replacing So Saffron). To choose what colours to use for the card, I simply picked out the colours from the DSP .
