Cute box with Circle Sayings

I made this cute box with Circle Sayings and the gorgeous Les Shoppes 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) DSP from the Les Shoppes Suite. It’s been too long since I made a 3D project so I put my thinking cap on and here’s the result!

The actual box size is Depth 1″ x Height 3 ½” x Width 4″ but there is a pitched “roof” with a ¾” flap at the top. In order to close the box, you pinch the flaps together, punch a pair of holes on the flaps and thread ribbon through it and tie a bow.

I kept my circle punches after they had retired so was delighted to find that the 2 ¼” circle punch fitted nicely round the circle sentiment. The 2 ⅜” circle punch is new and is bundled with the Circle Sayings photopolymer stamp set. Smack my hand for using retired product, but I couldn’t find my Stylish Shapes dies, and for the sake of completing the project, I just grabbed anything that was close to hand!

There is a sheet of Designer Series Paper in the Les Shoppes 12″x 12″ DSP pack and it was a perfect match for the Circle Sayings cup cake. I love it when you can use DSP from different Suites with something totally different.

Box Base measurements

Imperial

1. Calypso Coral card stock : 6 ¼” x 10 ½”
2. Long side at the top score at ½”, 4 ½”, 5 ½” and 9 ½”.
3. Rotate card stock anti-clockwise so short side is at the top and score at 1”, 4 ½”, 5 ½”.
4. Front and back large panel DSP- be mindful of the orientation of the pattern. Cut 2 pieces H 3 ¼” x W 3 ¾”.
5. Side panels DSP : Cut 2 pieces H 3 ¼” x W ¾”.
6. Scraps of Basic White and Calypso Coral card stock

Metric

1. Calypso Coral card stock : 16.5 cm x 26.5 cm
2. Long side at the top score at 1.5 cm, 11.5 cm, 14 cm, 24 cm
3. Rotate card stock anti-clockwise so short side is at the top and score at 2 cm, 4.5 cm, 13.5
4. Front and back large panel DSP – be mindful of the orientation of the pattern. Cut 2 pieces at H 8.5 cm x 9.5 cm
5. Side panels DSP : Cut 2 pieces H 8.5 cm x W 2 cm.
6. Scraps of Basic White and Calypso Coral card stock.
