How to create a punched background

Happy Sunday! Today’s card shows you how to create a punched background with the Ink & Tiled punches. The punches come in a pair and coordinate with the Ink & Tiled Cling stamp set and also the Inked Botanical 6″x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Papers.

Creating the punched background

1. Attach an adhesive sheet to some Pool Party card stock and cut them into strips which will pass through the punch easily.
2. Punch out several crosses.
3. Remove the backing paper from the crosses and adhere the top and bottom rows first.
4. Cut a strip of Inked Botanicals 6″x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) DSP to the middle section and adhere to card base.
5. Remove backing paper from the remaining crosses. Adhere the remaining crosses on top of DSP strip by staggering them.

Creating a focal point

1. Cut Basic White piece 2″ x 3 ½” (5 cm x 9 cm).
2. Use the blade of scissors to ruck up the edges of the Basic White card stock on all 4 sides.
3. Ink up leaf stamp with Lost Lagoon and stamp directly to left of card stock.
4. Stamp off the single floral stamp to fill in white space – remember to leave sufficient room to stamp sentiment.
5. Repeat process with the double headed floral image by stamping off first to fill in blank spaces to far left of card stock.
6. Stamp “happy BIRTHDAY” to right upper half of card stock.
7. Attach Natural ¼” (6.4 mm) Wavy Trim with glue dots beneath greeting
8. Apply dimensionals to back of Basic White card stock.
9. Align right edge of Basic White focal point piece to right edge of card base and adhere.
10. Adhere Adhesive Backed Trio sequins as desired.

Inside card

1. Cut Basic White card stock 3 ¾” x 5 ½” (9.5 cm x 14 cm)
2. Bottom right corner – ink up leaf stamp in Lost Lagoon and stamp directly.
3. Stamp off with single flower and dual headed floral image to fill in gaps.
