Handcrafted elements dies – Week 2 of 12 Christmas series

Welcome to week 2 of 12 in my Christmas Countdown Series with the Handcrafted Elements Dies. I cased the catalogue when I shared a sneak peek because I wasn’t allowed to show you the inside of the September-December 2023 mini until launch day. You can see that post HERE. Today I’m using the ornament die which embosses and die cuts at the same time. The dies are stand alone so it can be used with any stamp set which also contains greetings. In the video, you can see the other colour way. I used the centre from this die cut to go inside the other die cut gold foil die cut.

Often, we want to wow the people we send our hand-made cards to and I’ve said it many times before. Making fun folds, interactive cards can be labour intensive or bulky. Christmas time is when you want to keep it simple to speed up the process of making multiples of any one design of card.

For the background I embossed a Cherry Cobbler Mat layer with the Christmas Tidings embossing folder. This is a standard thickness of embossing folder so your sandwich to go through the die cutting machine does not require the grey coloured Platform 4. The embossing sandwich is different. Start with Platform 1, followed by the first of two Platform 3 plates. Next place the card stock inside the standard embossing folder and place it on the first Platform 3. Ensure the fold of the embossing folder is positioned so that the fold of the embossing folder is the leading edge to go through the machine. Place the second platform 3 on top and you’re ready to run it through the die cutting machine.

This sentiment from Stars at Night photopolymer stamp set was ideal for the inside of the card. I married Cherry Cobbler and Smoky Slate together. Hopefully you’ll agree that this colour combo works well.
