A slider gift card holder with Rocking Horse bundle in episode 11 of 12 in my Christmas Countdown Series for 2023. It’s really easy to put together and a way of using up your designer series paper which doubles up as the gift wrap as well!
When you open the envelope, the gift card pops up. To secure the top flap, simply tuck it under the Rocking Horse’s head.
Cutting Guide
If you’re using a pattern which is directional, be aware which way round you need to score so that the pattern is the right way up when constructed. In my sample the trees are the right way up when folded on the front, but the trees are upside down on the back.
Envelope
- Envelope base : Merry Bold & Bright DSP cut at 11″ x 4″ (28 cm x 9.5 cm)
- DSP Long side on top, score at 2 ¼” and 7 ½” (6 cm and 19 cm).
- Short side on top, align right edge of paper at 1/2″ (1 cm) and cut from top down to 4″ (10 cm). Lift arm and cut from the bottom score line down to bottom.
- Next align left edge of DSP to left of cutting groove at 1/2″ (1 cm) and cut from top down to 4″ (10 cm). Lif arm and cut from bottom score line down to bottom.
- Remove paper from trimmer and remove loose bits. (refer to video)
Pop up insert
- Basic White card stock : Cut 1 piece at 5 ½” x 2 ¾” (14 cm x 7 cm).
- Long side on top, score one end at ½” (1.5 cm)
- Rotate card stock 180 degrees and score other end at ½” (1.5 cm)
