Alternate cards – Paper Pumpkin. Paper Pumpkin is a brand new offering. We’ve been asking for Paper Pumpkin for yonks but it was only available in the US and Canadian markets. With effect from April, Paper Pumpkin (a kit subscription) has gone global. You need to submit your subscription by the 10th of each month.

My paper pumpkin was delayed, so I didn’t actually receive mine until 2 May. Hence the late posting! This is a long post – so grab a cuppa and get ready!

What is Paper Pumpkin?

It’s a subscription kit programme by Stampin’ Up! and your one-stop box for creative success! Imagine everything you love about paper crafting in one fun package, delivered to your door as a surprise each month—that’s Paper Pumpkin. It’s currently available as an English-only product.

Paper Pumpkin subscription kits are designed for anyone who wants to quickly and easily create beautiful, handmade projects—anytime and anywhere! Subscribers get a new, surprise project every month—one that’s great for all types of crafters. And it’s an ongoing crafting experience that will keep you motivated and engaged.

What’s inside the kit

Each kit includes an exclusive photopolymer stamp set, a Stampin’ Spot, and step-by-step instructions for beautifully designed, pre-cut paper crafting projects. Everything is ready to stamp, assemble, and share for a fun and easy experience.

New Subscribers

• New subscription purchases are charged at checkout, and subscribers will receive a welcome kit that includes a clear stamp block. Hold on to the block as it’s not included in future Paper Pumpkin kits.
• New subscribers can choose a pay-as-you-go plan to be billed monthly after their first kit is delivered, or they can choose 3-, 6-, and 12-month prepaid options and pay the full amount upfront.
• Subscribers cannot skip the first month of a new subscription. After the first shipment, new subscribers can skip a month at any time by updating their Paper Pumpkin subscription information. This is where they can also make updates to their address, payment methods, or selected demonstrator.
  
  Note: Changes to a subscriber’s Paper Pumpkin subscription information do NOT apply to their Stampin’ Up! account. Similarly, changes to a subscriber’s Stampin’ Up! account do NOT apply to their Paper Pumpkin subscription information.

Subscription information

• Billing – Subscribers will be charged on the 11th of each month. If the initial billing is not successful, Stampin’ Up! will attempt billing again from the 11th – 25th of that month.
• Shipping – Kits will ship 2-3 business days after successful billing. Stampin’ Up! will send an email with a tracking number to the subscriber once the kit ships.
• Past Kits & Refills – Past Kits and Refills are available on the 21st of each month while supplies last.

Note: If Stampin’ Up! run out of kit inventory, they will deny new subscription purchases and cancel the option to add kits to existing subscriptions. Refills are still guaranteed to active subscribers while supplies last. Past kits will not be offered.

Timeline

The time frame to subscribe to this kit was 1st April – 10th April and the Lakeside Retreat Paper Pumpkin kit also coordinates with the Waterside Retreat Suite in our new May-August 26 catalogue. In the picture on the right there is an Add On which coordinates with three upcoming kits exclusive to Paper Pumpkin subscribers only.

Alternate cards – Lakeside Retreat our first Paper Pumpkin Kit

You can make three each of 3 designs, 9 cards in total as choreographed in the instructions, but I chose to make alternates by cutting up the card bases and spreading the laser cut pieces through all the cards. The envelops to use as DSP and trebled the number of cards I made from the one kit. Simply add your own Basic White card bases and envelops and coloured card stock where needed. You can also add coordinating inks, stamps or dies for a little variety

Lakeside Retreat Paper Pumpkin kit

The card bases are printed front and back so I cut up the cards and envelops to use as Designer Series Papers for my layers.

1. Left side picture: The circular lake scene was cut in half to make 2 cards with the striped blue pattern and the Misty Moonlight plain edging was cut in ¼” strips from one of the layers. Both the wood plank cards were layered onto the envelop background.
2. Right hand side : Top row – picture of the pier was cut apart to make 2 cards. One square scene was layered onto the plaid background to make one card, and the other in the row below was cut in ½” strips and made into a double vision scene. Next to it are two semi-circular cards. They are the Pecan Pie circle cut in half and flipped over to the white side so I could stamp on it. Some linen thread and Iridescent foil gems (at time of writing were still available on the last chance list).

Plaid background cards

1. Picture above : Top row – another scene from the laser cuts were cut in ½” strips to make a double vision card and it was adhered on top of a plaid piece with a flag end. Pecan Pie circle was cut in half and flipped over to the white side so I could stamp on it and adhere it butted up to the plaid piece.
2. Second row – Pier scene was cut into 2 sections to separate the boat from the rest of the pier and two cards were made with it. Three Banner Punch was used to punch out the labels with Peaceful Pine card stock and the greetings were white embossed.

Waterside Retreat 12 x 12 DSP and extras

The papers from these cards were all cut from the die card bases or envelops. I used some from the Waterside Retreat 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper as well since it coordinates with the Lakeside Retreat kit.

1. Back row – two cards with simple fun fold. Card on left: card front was folded in half and two mate layers were partially adhered on the fold.
2. Middle row – Card on left, I cut Misty Moonlight and Basic White circle from Spotlight on Nature dies. The other two cards were simply cut from the pre-printed card bases and laser-cut pop outs were used to decorate it with.
3. Bottom row – The square scene is from the Waterside Retreat DSP and is identical to the circular scene except in shape. I also used the Relaxing Waterside Bundle from the Waterside Retreat Suite to change up the greetings. The die cut word “wonderful” is from the Add On “Wonderful Scenes” die set.

Right side picture

1. Top row : A double vision technique with the fence. Fussy cut the bicycle from the Waterside Retreat DSP to prop up against the fence. For the other card, I die cut the largest circle from Spotlight in Nature dies with the envelop paper and used the new Dewdrops embellishments for decoration.
2. Bottom row – Both the circular scene and Pecan Pie circles were cut in half to make another 2 cards. I stamped the seagull from the Relaxing Waterside stamp set and the word “wonderful” from the Add On “Wonderful Scenes” die set and switched inks to Pecan Pie.

Angled slider card

1. Angled slider card using Spotlight on Nature dies for my closure. Circle was die cut with Smoky Slate card stock.
2. Slider mechanism removed (middle picture) to show the angled opening.
3. The inside of the card is decorated with the envelop, stamped with bulrush (cattails), birds and die cut Wonderful Scenes sign post.

The Lakeside Retreat Kit has enough materials to make 9 cards as choreographed, but I’ve made 28 at the last count using the elements supplied. By adding my own card bases and whatever I have in my stash for a little variety I’ve trebled the number of cards made from just 1 kit.
