Easy elegant floral card

Easy elegant floral card. I used one of the new online exclusive Violet Dreams Specialty Designer Series papers to make this elegant floral card.

The Violet Dreams 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Specialty Designer Series Paper evokes a whole mood: sweet, airy, and instantly eye-catching. With delicate violet florals, polka dots, soft stripes, and coordinating pre-cut pieces of blooms and leaves to layer on cards, scrapbook pages, and other projects. It is part of the Violet Dreams Suite Collection.

I also use the Shimmering Stripes Specialty Designer Series Papers in the suite to die cut a background with the 3rd largest Beautifully Celebrated Dies, but, of course, if you don’t have that set, you can use any die in your stash. The sentiment “Best wishes” is from Opulent Oasis stamp set which was white embossed on Secret Sea card stock.

Cutting guide

Front of card

1. Card base : Secret Sea cut at 5 ¾” x 8 ¼” (14.5 cm x 21 cm) and folded in half.
2. Barely Blush layer : 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (10 cm x 14 cm)
3. Violet Dreams Specialty DSP : 3 ¾” x 5 ⅜” (9.5 cm x 13.5 cm)
4. Shimmering Stripes Specialty DSP : die cut with 3rd largest Beautifully Celebrated Dies or similar (whatever you have in your stash).
5. Adhere ribbon to front of card BEFORE you adhere Shimmering Stripes label.
6. White emboss greeting from Opulent Oasis then trim and fussy cut flag ends on both ends as pictured.
7. Add an adhesive backed bloom to embellish with.

Inside card

1. In lieu of a Basic White layer, I cut a Barely Blush piece 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (10 cm x 14 cm) for the inside. It is light enough so that any message you write on it will be easily visible.
2. Adhere a flower and leaf from the pre-cut Violet Dreams Specialty DSP pack to finish.

The card looks stunning in real life, the photo doesn’t capture the striped shimmery lines on the paper, but I loved how it all came together with minimum effort!
