New hot foil Bundles – coming soon. Not long to wait now. Here’s one last sneak peek before launch day on September 1st. I’ve chosen two bundles to feature and these are the Starry Night Bundle and Framed & Fabulous bundle which I feel you can use all year round.

If you love a little sparkle, the Starry Night Bundle is for you! It includes one background stamp and one coordinating hot foil die, allowing you to create a backdrop of tiny stars and eye-catching foil accents. The stamp adds a full-coverage pattern, while the die adds radiant details that catch the light. This bundle is a great choice for Christmas projects and is versatile enough for celebrations and heartfelt cards all year long.

The Framed & Fabulous bundle includes hot foil dies that add metallic foil details for an elegant, eye-catching finish. Use with Stampin’ Hot Foil Rolls, the Stampin’ Hot Foil System, and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (all sold separately).

Classic simple birthday card

There is new “Smooth Foiling Specialty Paper which can make the most of your Stampin’ Hot Foil Rolls. This heat-resistant paper allows you to use leftover foil to create a second design for your paper crafting projects. (Especially useful when used in conjunction with the Reverse Hot Foil Die. It is a solid die and allows you to create two designs from 1 sheet of hot foil – the main design and the negative image left on the foil.)

What a great way to add shine without wasting foil! The paper also makes a lovely accent layer in your handmade cards! Each sheet measures 5″ x 7″ (12.7 cm x 17.8 cm). There are 10 sheets in a pack – it is acid and lignin free and also photo safe.

I cut the sheet in half so I could use the other half on another card and used a blending brush to add colour after hot foiling it with the new Silver Opal Stampin’ Hot Foil Roll. That’s another thing, being white, you can use any ink colour to suit the colour palette you’re creating with at any time.

Cutting guide

1. Card base : Crumb Cake 5 ¾” x 8 ¼” (14.5 cm x 21 cm) folded in half.
2. Pecan Pie mat layer front of card : 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (10 cm x 14 cm)
3. New Smooth Foiling Specialty paper : 3 ½” x 5″ (8.9 cm x 12.7 cm) [OPTIONAL SHORT CUT : 7″x 5″ foil whole piece then cut in half. I wanted the pattern to be vertical on both pieces, so cut mine in half first and hot foiled twice.]
4. Basic White (Inside card) : 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (10 cm x 14 cm)

Assembling card

Front of card

1. Adhere Pecan Pie layer to front of card leaving an even border on all 4 sides.
2. Silver Pearl Hot foil with Starry Night hot foil die on new Smooth Foiling Specialty paper (both pieces) then use blending brush to add Pecan Pie ink. I cleaned the surface with a tissue to take the ink off so that the sparkly bits would return to its original shine. Adhere on top of Pecan Pie layer.
3. Next centre and adhere Pecan Pie 1″ (2.5 cm) strip.
4. Attach ribbon at either end with glue dots. I cut 4 x 1 ½” lengths and paired them then snipped them at an angle as pictured.
5. Copper Hot foil with Framed & Fabulous hot foil die on Basic White card stock. Die cut with scalloped Framed & Fabulous die and adhere directly centred on card and on top of ribbon.
6. Die cut smaller circle with Pecan Pie card stock with the smaller Framed & Fabulous die and adhere with dimensionals on top of copper foiled scalloped circle.
7. Stamp birthday greeting and trim flag ends as pictured. Use a bone folder to curl the ends and adhere dimensional in the centre of label to pop it up. Apply a glue dot on each flag end to ground it on the die cut circle.
8. Apply a trio of embellishments as shown.

Inside card

1. Stamp Starry Night stamp along left edge of Basic White piece for inside of card.
2. Cut a ½” (0.5 cm) strip from 2nd Silver Pearl hot foiled piece and adhere as pictured.
3. Adhere Basic White layer to inside of card to finish.

Stampin’ Hot Foil System

This is a new tool by Stampin’ Up! with special Hot Foil Dies. If you missed the post introducing the machine and information all about it, here’s a video to explain how the system works. Please be aware this machine is designed to fit Stampin’ Up!’s larger Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine and was tested with their own line of products. It would render the 1 year warranty on the Stampin’ Hot Foil System null and void if you use it on non-Stampin’ Up! machines which may not fit.

Also be sure you’re ordering the machine with the right plug for your market. Foils and dies have to be purchased separately.
