Wreath & Wonder – Week 7 Christmas Countdown Series

Wreath & Wonder – Week 7 Christmas Countdown Series. Today’s card combines a hot foiled wreath with the Festive Cheer Bundle. The Wreath & Wonder bundle has no sentiments so I had to use some from a different set.

I had prepared a stash of Magical Christmas Hot Foil Dies (English) sentiments from a previous project which was featured in this post HERE in lots of foil colours which I often use for other cards like this one today.

If you’re new to hot foiling and Stampin’ Up!’s Hot Foil System, I have a special video at the end of the post as well as some tips to prevent over foiling.

Festive Cheer Bundle/Wreath & Wonder bundle/Magical Christmas Hot Foil Dies (English)

This was introduced as an online exclusive in July 2026. I die cut the pine sprig to pad out the Wreath & Wonder green hot foiled wreath, and one of the hot foiled sentiments from the Magical Christmas Hot Foil Dies (English) I had in my stash.

Cutting guide

This card omits using an extra Basic White layer because the card stock is light enough to stamp inside without it. Also with less layers, it is post friendly being less bulky.

Front of card
  1. Soft sea foam card base 5 ¾” x 8 ¼” (14.5 cm x 21 cm) folded in half.
  2. Mat layer Soft Sea Foam for card front 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (10 cm x 14 cm). Use Blending Brush to add Peaceful Pine colour around the edges of the card stock as pictured.
  3. Die cut 4 pine sprigs and use blending brush to slightly darken them with Peaceful Pine ink.
  4. Hot foil with green foil the Wreath & Wonder Hot foil die and die cut as pictured.
  5. Select one of the Magical Christmas (English) green Hot foil sentiments and adhere as shown.
  6. Embellish with Rhinestone jewels.
Inside card
  1. Use Stamp Positioner to stamp the greeting from Festive Cheer several times to make the ink more intense and deeper Soft Sea Foam shade.
  2. Stamp the little stars as shown.

How to prevent Over-foiling tip

From my own experience using the Stampin’ Hot Foil System, I had better results by following the instructions that came with the Stampin’ Hot Foil System. I added a thin piece of copy paper on top of the card stock before placing the green Hot Foil Shim on. This helps protect the shim from picking up any excess foil in the process.

  1. After the red light goes solid red, put your hot foil die on to the heated surface with flat side down. Press the white timer button. The platform beeps and a yellow light flashes while the die heats up (approximately 1 ½ minutes). The white timer button and the red light stays lit and when ready, the platform beeps again and the green light turns on. All lights will be lit.
  2. Next build your sandwich by placing these items on the die in order: Foil (shiny side down)>Card stock/or desired material> thin piece of copy paper (to prevent foil from getting on to your shim)>Hot Foil Shim>Hot Foil Spacer.
  3. Unplug the cord from the platform and carefully remove it from the silicone platform station, keeping the sandwich stable to prevent foil transfer. Place it on the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and slowly run it through without reversing as the die may shift and smudge the card stock.

Stampin’ Hot Foil System

This is a new tool by Stampin’ Up! with special Hot Foil Dies. If you missed the post introducing the machine and information all about it, here’s a video to explain how the system works. Please be aware this machine is designed to fit Stampin’ Up!’s larger Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine and was tested with their own line of products. It would render the 1 year warranty on the Stampin’ Hot Foil System null and void if you use it on non-Stampin’ Up! machines which may not fit.

Also be sure you’re ordering the machine with the right plug for your market. Foils and dies have to be purchased separately.

If you purchase the Stampin’ Hot Foil System before Jan 4, 2027, it will also include the Metallic Magic Craft Class for free. The class will cost £28.00 to purchase when the free class offer ends.
