Autumnal card 1 – Lustrous Leaves

Autumnal card – Lustrous Leaves. Autumn is upon us, days getting shorter and there’s a chill in the air. Am loving the Reverse Hot Foil plate and today I’m featuring the postive Copper hot foiled leaves from Lustrous Leaves bundle.

The bundle includes dies for adding shimmering and metallic accents, plus coordinating masks with alignment notches for easy layering. Mix colours to craft vibrant, autumn-inspired leaves for your card making and paper crafting projects.

This includes a Hot Foil Die set which adds metallic foil details for an elegant, eye-catching finish when used with Stampin’ Hot Foil Rolls and the Stampin’ Hot Foil System (both sold separately).

Normal Hot Foiled Card with Lustrous Leaves

The picture doesn’t do it justice, but in real life, the linear images of the leaves foiled in copper are stunning. To add a touch of colour, I’ve used the masks in the bundle to add Golden Glow ink to it.F

Cutting guide

1. Card base : Cajun Craze cut at 5 ¾” x 8 ¼” (14.5 cm x 21 cm) folded in half.
2. Golden Glow card stock cut at 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (10 cm x 14 cm) and emboss with Rustic Check 3D embossing folder
3. Cajun Craze card stock – cut Party Banner die with no. 5 die (there are 14 nested dies in the set, 1 being the smallest and 14 being the largest).
4. White Willow two-tone card stock – large enough to cover Lustrous Leaves hot foil die.
5. Copper Foil large enough to cover Lustrous Leaves hot foil die.
6. Inside card – Basic White 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (10 cm x 14 cm).

How to assemble card

Card front

1. Adhere Golden Glow embossed layer to front of card leaving an even border on all 4 sides.
2. Hot foil leaves with Copper foil on White Willow card stock.
3. Use blending brush to apply Golden Glow ink to leaves with the Lustrous Leaves decorative mask then die cut with coordinating die.
4. Adhere Cajun Craze Party Banner equidistant from top and two sides, then arrange and adhere leaves as pictured with dimensionals on top, followed by another leaf below banner to the bottom right.
5. Stamp greeting from the Elegant Leaves stamp set. Trim at an angle, and adhere as pictured.
6. Tie a bow with Essentials Bakers Twine (white) and adhere with a glue dot as pictured.

Inside card

1. Use a blending brush to apply a touch of Golden Glow colour to the bottom and half way up on the left and right side of Basic White piece.
2. Adhere remaining leaves as shown in bottom left corner.

Stampin’ Hot Foil System

This is a new tool by Stampin’ Up! with special Hot Foil Dies. If you missed the post introducing the machine and information all about it, here’s a video to explain how the system works. Please be aware this machine is designed to fit Stampin’ Up!’s larger Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine and was tested with their own line of products. It would render the 1 year warranty on the Stampin’ Hot Foil System null and void if you use it on non-Stampin’ Up! machines which may not fit.

Also be sure you’re ordering the machine with the right plug for your market. Foils and dies have to be purchased separately.
